During pandemic lockdown the music scene was all but obliterated. From the smouldering ruin, a project brought together the erratic, flailing energy of our individual struggles into a single focussed communal effort. The goal was to produce a collaborate album of original material, from a fresh cohort of groups formed from members of various metal bands and interested musicians. And all for a good cause - to raise funds for Barnardos children’s charity (barnardos.ie) in 2021, and Womens Aid (www.womensaid.ie) in 2022.
My participation in the project was a fantastic experience all around. I got to collaborate with musicians who I knew only from attending their shows, and the experience challenged me and helped me grow as a musician.
